1. Privacy Principles

You can use the basic web transcript tool without creating an account. Accounts, paid features, and the developer API require additional information described below.

2. Information We Process

When you submit a video URL, we process it to retrieve an available caption track or provide the feature you requested. We record operational information about requests, including the URL or video ID, result or error, time, IP address, and browser information. We use this information to run the service, enforce usage limits, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot failures. If you create an account, we process your email address, authentication and plan information; paid features also involve billing records and a payment provider.

3. Caching and Performance

We temporarily cache available transcripts by video ID to avoid fetching the same captions repeatedly. Operational request logs may include a video ID, URL, and IP address; they are separate from the cached transcript. Server request logs are kept for a rolling period of about 95 days, subject to the service's cleanup process. Account and billing records are managed separately.

4. Cookies and Analytics

We use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand visits and how people use the site; Clarity can record interactions for session playback and heatmaps. Our own analytics records page visits and navigation, referral and campaign information, a per-tab session identifier, IP address, country, and browser or device information. We also use cookies or browser storage for usage limits, sessions, language preferences, and the installed app experience. You can disable optional analytics in this browser by visiting the analytics opt-out link. Essential request logging and usage limits still apply. We do not sell user data.

5. Advertising

We may use Google AdSense to display advertising after it is enabled. Google and its partners may use cookies or other identifiers to serve and measure ads, including personalized ads where permitted and where the required consent is obtained. Ad serving is subject to our consent setup for visitors in regions where it is required.

You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendor use of cookies generally by visiting the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page or aboutads.info.
