How in-transcript search works
After the transcript loads, type in the search box above the text. The list filters to the caption segments containing your words and shows how many matched. Matching ignores upper and lower case. Each result keeps its timestamp, which opens the video on YouTube at that moment.
Search tips that save time
- Search for a distinctive word rather than a whole sentence. Captions are split into short segments, so a long phrase can be broken across two of them and not match either.
- Try alternate spellings. Auto-generated captions often misspell names, brands, and jargon, so a search for the correct spelling can miss it.
- Search a word stem: “invest” also finds “investment” and “investing”.
- If a word doesn’t appear at all, check that you have the right caption language selected.
Searching more than one video
